Our May Status Quo Breaker is...
Emily Truitt, Employee Information and Data Center Manager, is being recognized as our May Status Quo Breaker! She has participated in over 20 improvement projects, both as a team leader and as a team member. The results of these projects have allowed 606 hours of time to be diverted to other value added activities. Wow! In addition, Emily is a certified Lean Leader and is now part of our coaching program. Thank you for your dedication to be Lean!
The Status Quo Breaker is a monthly traveling trophy recognition of an employee for their contribution to process improvement, to say thank you for being Lean and/or for helping make DMPS Leaner.

Interested in Lean? Not able to attend classroom training? We have you covered. There is now a Lean Canvas course! Register for Leaner Everyday! at https://dmschools.instructure.com/enroll/J9A3GC. The course will introduce you to Lean principles, methodology, tools and terminology. Please reach out to Emma Knapp with any questions or if you have technical difficulties.

Attend the Lean Tools for Education session. This session will be offered twice, once on Tuesday June 12th and once on Wednesday June 13th.
Session Description: Are you wanting to create an environment of continuous improvement? Do you need tools to problem-solve or help a group move forward, make a decision or articulate priorities and goals? This session will introduce you to the Lean methodology of Plan, Do, Check, Act as well as a few specific continuous improvement (CI) tools to use throughout the PDCA cycle. The CI tools discussed are applicable in a classroom with students or in a PLC with staff.
